Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Ingestics support both REST API and RSS feeds?

Yes. Both pipelines exist in one admin interface. Free gives you three API providers plus two RSS providers. Higher tiers increase capacity and unlock advanced auth, scheduling, pagination strategies, and format auto-detection.

Can I use Ingestics without paying?

Yes. The core plugin installs free from WordPress.org and includes API and RSS ingestion, basic field mapping, manual fetching, security-hardened credential storage, activity logging, and guided setup wizards. No license key required.

Do I need Zapier, Make, or another automation tool?

No. Everything runs directly inside your WordPress installation. The Business-tier external webhook bridge can optionally connect to Zapier or Make if you want outbound notifications — but the entire ingestion-to-publishing pipeline works without any third-party middleware.

What happens to my data if I cancel a paid license?

Your installed features revert to the free tier’s capability set. All imported posts, activity logs, settings, and provider configurations remain intact. No content deletion occurs on license expiry.

Is there an uninstall cleanup policy?

Deactivation clears only operational queues, locks, and schedules. Providers, credentials, settings, logs, imported sources, and published content are preserved. Uninstall removes plugin files while leaving your WordPress data untouched.

How many providers does the free version allow?

Three API providers and two RSS providers simultaneously active. Manual fetch mode with a two-hour cooldown window.

Is Ingestics better than Feedzy?

Feedzy specializes in RSS display with shortcode output. Ingestics covers both API and RSS pipelines, creates native WordPress posts rather than cached embeds, includes a security-first credential vault from the free tier, and provides frontend display, transformation, and WooCommerce connectivity within the same plugin. See the detailed comparison page for feature-by-feature analysis.

What authentication methods does Ingestics support?

From Free: no auth, API Key (header or query parameter), Bearer token, HTTP Basic. From Lite: OAuth2 Client Credentials grant. From Pro: OAuth2 Authorization Code with PKCE S256 and automatic token refresh. From Business: AWS Signature Version 4 signing for AWS-hosted services.
